AmaWaterways was the first river cruise line member of the International gastronomic society La Chaine des Rotisseurs, so you’re guaranteed a high standard of gourmet cuisine on-board.
You can begin your day with a buffet breakfast with made to order specialities, then refuel at lunch with a buffet as well as items available to choose from a menu. A light lunch can also be taken in the main lounge, followed by afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes, teas and coffees.
Complimentary drinks are also served at breakfast and lunch, and bottled water and speciality teas and coffees are freely available throughout your river cruise
Each AmaWaterways cruise starts with a Captain’s Welcome party and ends with a Gala Dinner, with nightly Sip & Sail Cocktail hours and evening entertainment inbetween. The entertainment is low-key to suit the intimate vibe onboard, and typically incorporates the local customs and cultures of your destinations such as performances from European dancers and local orchestral groups, to Piano classics and Musical sing-a-longs. After a marvellous day enjoying everything on, and off your ship, you can treat yourself to a bit of pampering with a soothing massage or a visit to the hair salon. If you’re all about that fitness then you can hit the treadmill or lift some weights in the fitness room, while learning from the dedicated Wellness host present onboard all AmaWaterways ships, who run exercise classes and informative talks on diet & wellbeing throughout the cruise. AmaWaterways really do have something for everyone.
AmaWaterways has a quality programme of excursions, included in the cost of the cruise. These small group shore excursions are led by expert local guides and guests can choose from three options, ‘gentle walkers’, ‘active walkers’ and ‘late starters’ for those who want to enjoy a lie-in! With a choice of excursions in every port, guests will have the option to personalise their journey by either experiencing the city landmarks or enjoying more intimate, authentic excursions off the beaten track.
