The dialogues are so good because they're from George Bernard Shaw's play with new ones added by Shaw during the filming. Vivien Leigh is basically reprising her Scarlett O'Hara in an Egyptian setting. The filming started in 1944 when Nazi bombs were still raining down on Britain. It was the most expensive British film made at the time. My favorite Cleopatra on film is Claudette Colbert but the girlish Leigh is very very good and lots of fun to watch. The color in this upload is way better than my DVD. Well done Renato.
