▶︎ Why did we decide to take the Mekong Delta tour? 🇻🇳
Ho Chi Minh City is a major destination in Vietnam and we decided to explore this city deeply by moving in for a month. However, we also want to have more authentic look at local culture. A day trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Mekong Delta is what we think can be a fantastic way to get to know a more rural side to Vietnam, from local bee farms to traditional fishing villages

The Mekong Delta (Vietnamese: Đồng bằng Sông Cửu Long, “Nine Dragon river delta” or simply Vietnamese: Đồng Bằng Sông Mê Kông, “Mekong river delta”), also known as the Western Region or the South-western region is the region in southwestern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea through a network of distributaries. The Mekong delta region encompasses a large portion of southwestern Vietnam. The size of the area covered by water depends on the season.
The Mekong Delta has been dubbed as a “biological treasure trove”. Over 1,000 animal species were recorded between 1997 and 2007 and new species of plants, fish, lizards, and mammals have been discovered in previously unexplored areas, including the Laotian rock rat, thought to be extinct.
